Craft Beer in Knoxville

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got plans to be in Knoxville, TN for some shows next week and I'm curious about the craft beer situation there. Any brewpubs to suggest? How bout stores with the best selection? I'm up for sampling anything but my true love are IPAs.

Craft beer? Is that what they're calling it now? When I think of the word craft, it brings up images of this.....

Same thing really. Just replace the yarn and stuffing with barley, hops and yeast. Blue hair is optional. What do you mean by "calling it now"? What did they call it before?

Thanks ssbass, I'll write that down.

Anyone else?

They're not too bad. Not great, but not bad. Barley's is near there and they usually have a decent selection of some micro brews. They also make a mean pizza pie that's worth checking out.

Do you know what venues you'll be hitting up and when? Feel free to hit me up if you wanna pregame on the strip and grab a few brews at the local bars. They got crap beer but plenty of talent to look at

We used to call them microbrews, from microbreweries.

First thing I learned today. Microbrewery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I knew the term "microbrewery" but didn't know the specific differences between nano, micro, and craft until you inspired me to look it up. Thanks Mike.

Thanks man. I'll check out Barley's too. I'm headed down to see Widespread Panic play at the Tennesse Theatre on the 26th, 27th, and 28th.

Downtown Grill and Brewery is a block or two away from the Tennessee Theater. You also might want to check out Preservation Pub in Market Square, also very close to the theater.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I hit all of them and couple more. Saw some really good music at the bar "Southbound" after the Panic shows on Monday and Tuesday nights. After party on Wednesday at the "Preservation Pub". Some good pizza at the "Tomato Head" too.
