Feel real bad for the family.

Sounds like these thieves were pros.

Considering they pulled something off before I wouldn't consider them rookies either.

EDIT: Or maybe I am not reading the article correctly. Point is what happened is awful and I hope these thieves get caught before they strike again.

That city is about 45 minutes from where I live. Craigslist has been getting more and more creepy recently. I usually meet people at the local gas station or Burger King now.

Although the other day I sold some cabinets and the lady asked me to deliver them to her house. When I got there it was just her by herself. Kind of surprised me she would agree to let me come over when she was alone and the deal was $300 for my cabinets.

That's why whenever I'm meeting someone to buy or sell from Craigslist, I'm armed too.

I guess it's buyer AND seller beware.

I've been avoiding selling on Craigslist for this very reason.

I have often wondered about this in the past,...what's to stop the criminal element from taking advantage of CL ads.

I imagine if there was an email communication investigators may be able to track IP addresses and lead them to some clues at the very least.

I clicked on the link and read this sad story. I couldn't help noticing the banner ad...

DISCLAIMER - I'm not suggesting this only happens in America; the same sort of stuff happens over here, too, on an all too frequent basis. Here's an example, with an almost equally ironic banner ad.

Some people are just vile.

^Targeted advertising is choc full of that kind of stuff.

I once put terrorism into google and the side ad came up with 'cheap flights to America'. This was not too long after 11/9, just for context.

I meant that family that was murdered, thought it was a give away that the link cheap flights to America would be selling cheap flights to America.

Well you would think so, but you did direct the question towards the quoted passage.

The family were selling a ring, according to the article.
