I am thinking about getting one of these, but I heard that you can't go backwards in shuffle mode, is this true?

I know it sounds like a rather insignificant question, but just I case I want to go back to a song, I just wanted to know for sure.

I have a Creative Zen that will go back in the playlist, but it moves to a different track once you go forwards again. So it saves what you've played, but the next track is always random. Also, it seems to favor certain CD's in shuffle mode, not entirely random. It also crashes often and has a terrible battery life after three years of use. I've heard the newer models are much better though.

The first one I had was great. An 8-gig photo piece of joy. It was pretty indestructible too. Well, until one day I got my hoody from work, forgot the MP3 player was in there and it went flying down the stairs. Well, that was my fault, so I wasn't too annoyed that it stopped working(well, of course I was annoyed but I understood at leastt)

Anyways a few months ago I got a 4-gig Creative again. But this worked great with a great battery life for a while and when I went to turn it on last month. It wouldn't turn on. I tried everything. All the troubleshooting on the Creative website. It stopped working all of a sudden with no reason.

Never buying Creative again after that...

Mine's the same.

I have a 20 gig Zen that's two years old now - battery life isn't great, but it's not too bad. No reliability issues at all and I love it; I'd get another one no hesitation whenever this one does bite the dust. I much prefer it to my g/f's iPod, less quirky software imo.
