When were you last in Staten Island or NJ?

I'd say "very aggressively" as opposed to "like crap".

You're right - jumping from a toilet to a trash can really is a horizontal rather than vertical act.

Go for it! I have spent lots of time in Canada (mainly Ontario) and would love to hear your thoughts about where you live.

I don't own a horse
I don't wear cowboy hats
I don't listen to country (okay, sometimes I do)
I don't drive a truck
I didn't vote for W
I didn't play football (rugby all the way)
I don't work for an oil company

I DO wear cowboy boots, have an accent, and hunt, though.

The first things that pop into my mind about Idaho are awesome geology and mountain biking.

I've met quite a few transplants here from the midwest and to a person they've all been super-friendly. Just really nice folks.

I have to wonder what they think of us WA natives?

I'm from New York. I now live in Tennessee.
No I don't either hate or miss living in the city. I never lived in the city.
You're surprised I'm friendly ?
No, I'm not a Yankee. People from New England are Yankees. But that's okay, most Northern people don't know what a real Yankee is either.
You're surprised I'm not rude, crude or loud ? I can be if you want...

My guess is you've never been in either Staten Island or NJ.

New Jersey has a rep as the "What exit?" state. The reality is it's one of the more eclectic states.

I can get some of the best fried chicken going in Newark, hit the shore(our version of the ocean or Da Hai), hit the Rutgers gut trucks with their hybrid Middle Eastern exotica, catch either a multiplex hit or an indie flick and close up with a Cliffs Ice Cream (open year round). All in the same day. The next day do something equally varied and totally different.

When I was a kid one of the things to do was get home from work go out partying, hit the shore for a sun rise and then shower up and go to work. Everything was close enough that this was a doer.

In the unlikely event I ever get really wealthy I would consider moving to Manhattan or maybe Paris or Amsterdam, but the affordability factor in my present situation just adds to the appeal.

With every possible respect I think this could have been thought through a bit better.

I'll be first to comment on the first state of DELAWARE
(I've now lived in SoCal for 17 years, but some things never change)

You send all of your credit card payments to Northern Delaware, they are received, processed, and then promptly used to fund the design and manufacture of pumpkin tossing machinery in Southern Delaware.

We are all related to the Dupont family, that much is true.
