Yes, but way out west. You have to go out to the panhandle if you want to find any rustic prophets hermitted in the wilderness.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, never liked cheese.

I like beer enough to make up for it though.

I live on the Outer Cape Cod in Massachusetts:

1) we are not all liberal democrats (there are at least 10 registered republicans in the state counting me)

2) we have more surfers than an equivalent strip of beach in CA (watch Nauset Light Beach all winter !!!)

We don't all have high-potency coffee running through or veins.
We aren't all liberals ... I'm not, and neither is the district I'm in.
We don't have sex with animals ... excluding you guys in Enumclaw!
It doesn't rain as much as they say; we just tell people that so they don't move here.

Try being a Charger fan in Oakland once. Because you won't get to do it twice.

That's why you have to lay in provisions to drive from the airport to Ka'anapali.

Werd, but in Texas 30 minutes is a 30 mile trip. In Hawaii, 30 minutes is a 5 mile trip :/ . But the view is awesome

I guess that's the reason that I have no problem driving 45 minutes to the store here in TX (we'll be driving an hour and change to an estate sale today), but for some reason the 19 mile trip from Mililani to Honolulu is absolutely scary to me.

Peace,
Greg

I haven't heard a peep out of Oakland fans since the 90s. Seems like the ruffians up there have switched their allegiance to Frisco...

New York City does not encompass the entire state. When someone tells you they're from New York, they could be referring to the Brookside trailer park off Rt 23 in lovely Greene County.

New York is a big state, but I believe the largest percentage of people living in NY are in the five boroughs, and if you want to include lower Westchester county (Yonkers, Mount Vernon, White Plains, etc) the concentration of lower New York state is higher than the rest of the state, even though geographically smaller than the rest of the state.

My uncle lives upstate near Buffalo, and from the times I've visited its really a completely different world than the city - its almost like NYC and the rest of the state are not even the same place on the map.

I'm from the Bronx, by the way.. ftw!

Pennsylvania is similar to New York in that Philadelphia is nothing like the rest of the state. Come to western PA and you would not even think we are in the same state.

While NYC is vastly different from the rest of NY, there is a certain 'feel' that permeates that is quintessentially "New York" throughout the state. I find many states have a certain unique 'feel' to them...hard to explain.
