All I was saying was that, while that is true, statically you are more likely to meet someone from NY who resides in the five boroughs or lower Westchester.
And to add to my point from before, even residents of the five boroughs, act like they are from different states (mostly people from Brooklyn :banghead |

I live behind the Orange Curtain (i.e. in Orange County) and the curtain isn't as tall as it used to be. The southern half is still fairly conservative but the northern half is more diverse these days. Aside from that and "IDK, stuff I guess" that's pretty darn accurate! |

In terms of national or international recognition, I'm surprised Sea World made the map and Disneyland didn't. |

Rest of the map is spot on

Rest of the map is spot on | As with all stereotypes, they're always pretty accurate unless they're about ourselves. |

I'm allowed to talk trash because family lives there .

I haven't been here for very long....it doesn't seem to really lean one way or the other to me

It's obviously not a 100% thing, but it's a majority conservative county in an otherwise progressive state, and more importantly it's a county that has enough powerful and rich people to push that agenda further on a statewide or national level than other conservative California counties which tend to be less influential.
Don't know if that crosses the political content max for the thread or not... |

What is true for my home state;
Yes we have what you would call an accent. But depending where you're from here the accent differs from area to area. Central Massers sound different than Boston or The Cape. And it's always laughable when you see an actor trying to do it (the accent). Except Mark Wahlberg. 'Cause he's actually from here.
We are not mean people and not everyone is a liberal democrat, as mentioned above.
Lots of people own guns.
Not all of us are rich.
Not all of us love the Kennedys.
Not everyone goes to college, although I did.
Some of us drive considerately and use directionals. And most people don't have a BMW, Mercedes, or other high-dollar car.
We will look at you and wonder what you are doing when you come here and have no idea what to do at a rotary (you might call it a roundabout, maybe).
We like the beach, too.

I will say that the educated people live in Missouri, and all the crazy hicks that make the news live in Missourah.
