The cure for a broken heart.

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello Friends,

A week ago Wednesday my girlfriend of 8 months, whom I was completely in love with, sat me down and started with " Just so you know, I never cheated on you"

Immediately, my heart sinks into my stomach and my heart beings to race. She goes on to tell me that she has started to develop strong feelings for the choreographer that is working for a musical that she is doing at our college. She goes on to explain that she feels she "clicks" better with him and has an opportunity to be "happier" with him than with me.

Now, (this is the important part) She brought this all upon me out of the blue, she hid her feelings for him and faked her usual actions and reactions with me. she came over the morning before and we had a very usual morning. Everything was normal, last Thursday 9/24 we went to see a professional production of Chicago, and we had just a great evening.

the underlying meaning is she hit me like a tractor trailer.

Now, the exciting part.

Back in May, when i purchased my Mesa 400+ i received a FREE Furman PL+ power conditioner. After discovering it didn't work correctly I contacted Furman, and they have a deal where if I sent back the old one, I would get 40% off a new one. great right?

they completely forget about and don't respond to SEVERAL emails.
9/21 i email them saying, i am not longer interested, you lost a customer, i am going to buy from your competitors.

10/2 A brand new Furman conditioner arrives at my door. unordered, unpaid for. $190.00 value.

This made me smile, but didn't cure the heartache.

Anybody else have free gear cheer them up for a day?
Anybody have any suggestions to heal a broken heart?

Thank you all for reading my wall of text.

Get a new girlfriend then dump her.

Or, get some new gear.

String yourself along in hopes that her feelings for her choreographer change.

You can be happy in knowing that she is the flavour of the week for this choreographer. He's probably some douche who goes through college girls whenever he gets a shot. She'll soon be crawling back. But, as others said, don't think twice about not taking her calls.

Definitely execute a preemptive dump, and the sooner the better so you don't get any more attached to her. The message *I'm* getting from her is that, even though she really might like you, she's still thinking there's something better out there. Hell, she came out and told you she thinks she has a better chance of being happier with someone she doesn't really know (she works with him) rather than you, who's been in love with her for the last eight months. Whether she has really anything in the works or not, it sounds like it's only a matter of time before she announces she found it and you're out the door.

Could I be wrong? Of course. But if I were in your situation I wouldn't want that hanging over my head now that I know she doesn't feel 100% happy being with me.

Then the best cure for heartache is to have a string of no-strings-attached hookups while keeping your eyes open for the next future ex-girlfriend/wife. You are now entering a "quantity rather than quality" phase of your life! Oh, and buy gear!

IF this is so true ... why isn't she with him?
... maybe he really wasn't that into her, and she thought she actually had an opportunity ... and was wrong; so now she's backpedaling.

Frankly ... kick her to the curb. What's gonna happen when the next guy she "clicks" better with comes along?!

IMO ... have your way with her one more time. When you're done ... throw her $2; and tell her she can go on her way. She cheapened your relationship ... so now cheapen her.

My $0.02

Sorry if it hurts to read this, but this is IMO.

If she isn't happy with you, then you should leave her. The goal of a relationship is that your s/o is happy with you, right? If you don't think that she'll be happy with you, then it's time for you two to go your separate ways. With that said, you need to reexamine if you can make her happy with you.

Or just get more gear to compensate. It's different for everybody.

That is the proper format to list how to do things. YOU MUST ALWAYS INCLUDE "????" and "PROFIT".

And, seeing as how she hit him like a tractor trailer, it's only fair...

Congrats on the free Furman!

When my heart was broken I spent a lot of time alone in my room. Finally, I decided to not let it get the best of me. I put the Fleshlight back in its box, went to the park, and tried to meet some new people.

I say dump her, and don't buy it when she comes back after he decides shes not his "type". I say find someone new, completely out of her network of friends. Forget about her and go on with it.

And a new bass never hurts the healing process

Forgot to mention in my post up above that you should include as many of her friends and sisters as possible in the no-strings-attached hookups. And if you REALLY want to go for the gold, make sure you include her mom in that collection, too.

You have only two choices. Tap as many chicks as you possibly can and consider this a blessing in disguise or learn how to dance.
