My wife lived in Bothell when we were dating. We took our dogs to Marymoor quite a bit.

I rode my bike in the velodrome once too, that was interesting. They usually have a nice outdoor concert series during the summer. Not at the dog park though.

I like my midsized big dog. He just sheds.
The small hairy dogs eyes run all the time, so I wouldn't want one of those either.

But Danes are nice, about 10 years ago I had a friend with two Danes.

We raised Danes when I was a kid - they're the best dogs ever. Despite common opinion, they don't drool alot. Just when they drink, or they're running around a lot. Not like St Bernards, that drool all the time.

I miss Jaco...(my fawn dane)

No... that's Georgia, one of my boys buddies, she's also a Great Dane but does have a slimmer build and not as "block headed" as Haus and Zeek... probably not as much Mastiff in her bloodline. She is a sweetie and can run circles around these two.

We usually meet up with quite a few other Dane owners at Marymoor. On a nice summer day we have been known to have as many as 30+ Great Danes in the pack... and when they all get the "zoomies" it is time to keep alert and watch out for your knees!

This from a "gathering" a couple years ago when Haus was just a pup (he's the gray dog in the middle of the photo.)

Wow!! Great pix!!

When I lived up thataways (North Seattle) we used to take our dogs over to Marymoor every so often.
Excellent park! I used to roadie some of the concert park series back when for a soundguy.

When we go back up to Seattle for family visits I'm really impressed with the city dog parks. Especially Magnuson Park on Lake Washington.
Our female shepard sounds really nasty in the back of the truck or on leash, but let her go in the dog park and she is really well behaved.

Another cool park is Flaming Geyser Park down by Auburn. Lots of nice trails and riverfront.

I love Danes, but I hear they don't have a long life expectancy. True?

Yes, although, the breeding has gotten better and the Danes are living longer. The vet bills and 8-12 year life expectancy isn't for the faint of heart... not to mention the Dane's ability to clear out a packed stadium with one of their dogfarts!!

We knew this going in... and we make sure to enjoy them for as long as they are around. (The dogs that is... not the dogfarts!)
