For those of you that do the whole mouse point over the thread title to see what this thread is about
: This is a thread to showcase the static visual art I have done over the years. I hope that shows up and isn't to long for the tooltip
Anyways. I've finally kicked the WoW habit. For those who have been living in a deep dark damp cave for the last few years, WoW stands for
World
of
Warcraft
There's 2 reasons behind me being able to kick it, and one actually has to do with why I start this thread (imagine that!).
Reason 1: MakiSupaStar (the one and only) compared facebook to a fat chick you keep tapping cus you can. It really rings true for WoW to (IMHO). Nothing against fat chicks, you just ain't my bag.
Reason 2: I had been messin' around with a private server, GMing it up and all that jazz, when I started to realize that most high level toons look the same. Take 2 <insert race> <insert class>s, and garunteed they will have 90% similar gear if they're near the same point in the game. The Sword of Damocles fell as it were when I was hanging out in Undercity with my Death Knight. Some clothy class ran past in Arugal's stuff. The same stuff that all my clothies around level 25 have all had, and the same stuff that I see most 25ish clothies running around in. And that's when it hit me, originality is almost nowhere to be found in that game. Besides the fact that it relies on "carrot on a stick" mechanics (always 1 more thing to get/do), the only originality and creativeness is in the hands of Blizzard itself, and there is almost no way for a player to trick out a toon to look different, besides race, skin color/shade, and hair/tats. Everyone aims for the same gear, so everyone looks the same. Between WoW and TV, most of america must look the same in real life and the digital realm....
Anyways, the 2nd reason really got me thinking about what I want to do with my time, and what the hell I did before WoW came, took my soul, and put it on a shelf somewhere at Blizzard Entertainment. So, I dug out the couple of old sketchbooks that I had, blew off the dust (

) and decided to scan and post my work (after much laughing and wondering *** I was thinking with 1/2 the drawings...).
After some milling around the internet I decided to start a
deviantART account. That way I can post pics of almost unlimited size (my printer can scan up to 1200dpi and it was only like 150$, less than most things in my bass rig

), they automatically get resized, but anyone can DL the original if they want. A lot of the earlier stuff I've done is in pencil or blue pen so I scanned in color. The page looks grey, and there is a nice shadow on the older book cus its not spiral bound, but I figure its pretty good for rough work. My newer stuff I scanned black and white so it looks nice and crisp. I also fell in love with coil binding while doing this
Anyways, enough silly typeing from me, BRING ON THE PICS! Im gonna split them up between multiple posts, prolly 2 per, so that this doesn't end up making the page uber long. Oh, and these are not all in chronological order. I tried, but the way I loaded em onto deviantART mixed them up a little at times. If you want more info, just go to
