I don't think we'd be stupid enough to attack an intergalactic civilization capable of snuffing us out in minutes with a couple drones [or anything]. We're dumb, but not that dumb.

It was the worst movie I saw all year.

Ok. That's a lie. The Happening was worse.

But hands down the second worst.

Wow, no way. I had a buddy tell me it ended with many unanswered questions. Did you feel the same?

It kind of felt like they ran out of money with world destruction cgi, so they wrapped the whole movie up in about ten minutes. If they were looking to wrap that movie up, they should have just stopped when kathy bates tapped her watch when it stopped. Movie had a lot of promise and wound up falling on it's face IMO.

Taking one of the most classic of the cold war era sci-fi films and remaking it with Keanu Reeves as the star makes me fear for the earth's survival

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm surprised Keanu Reeves was cast as Klaatu and not Gort. I guess in this remake, the robot is the expressive one of the pair.

I am a huge fan of the original. Now that I've heard the remake is nothing more than a special effects driven bit of smug propaganda for preaching the far, far, left fringe message of enviornmentalism, where all humans completely suck and we all should die......well I don't think I'm gonna' catch it anytime soon.

Dude, that was answered in post #13, as if you needed the confirmation.... both Jen & the "Connellys" never fail to amaze me.

That said, the only way to make this movie suck worse is to see it in iMax, so it's waaaay larger than life suck.
