Descriptive Thread Titles

Sign in to disble this ad
Any new thread will contain one of three things: a question to the TB members, a statement of info that the thread author thinks most may not know, or a call for collection of similar information.

It is not necessary to put whether your thread is a question or otherwise, as bass players, as a group, tend to have enough grasp of the English language and all it's mechanics to figure that out on their own. It would be most helpful to put a few words that sort of sum up what is likely to be contained in your question and/or what you'd like others to contribute. If you are asking a question, putting relevant clues in the title may draw people who actually know about the subject of your question to read the thread.

Note the title of this thread - a few words that give an idea of what is contained that is easy for people to decide whether to read it or not.

POINT

Of course you must realize that this will likely go way over many TBers' heads.

Yeah I gripe about this one all the time. I freaking hate threads titled

"Anyone got a..."

"Anyone knows about..."

"***--seriously?"

"hahaha question from a noob"

"HELP ME"

"Is this right?"

"Anyone seen this before?"

etc. etc.

Put the subject of your post in the dad-blamed thread title!!!

Oh, if I had a nickel for how many times have I clicked a thread I cared nothing about, because I couldn't remember that the thread title had NOTHING to do with the contents, I'd have a Rickenbacker by now.

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I hover my cursor over the thread title, I get a popup window that shows me the first few lines of text from the thread. It saves me from opening a lot of usless threads or things I care nothing about.

Thanks for wasting my time.

Perhaps- but I can make computers stop working & slow down the fast lane, as well as any checkout line. I have no control over this power, though.

BTW, how about that super-descriptive title?

I hate to again kill your buzz, bassteban, but it seems you're not alone in your superpowers...or lack of ability to control these powers.

I also posess the ability to speak in frequencies that my children can't hear.

I'm not 100% sure the "Descriptive Thread Titles" accurately describes this thread at all. What about descriptive thread titles?? I think you have the subject of a sentence concerning thread titles, but I just dunno what to expect here.

I thought you had that multiple personality thing goin' on- you know, w/8 separate people crammed into one body like. Or you were an ex-cannibal.

I'm stll trying to remain descriptive in my title, mind you.
