But youre only hearing one side of the story, for all we know the so called victims could be calling up 4 year olds and telling them there is no Santa. Its better to wait until we get all the facts before passing judgement.

There's a reason your avatar looks like you spend too much time listening to "I think I'm turning Japanese".

It's okay, I have to think about jokes sometimes too.
"normal" humor... such a strange concept.

Any evidence, even hearsay from canoe.ca is more reliable than speculation. Facts are malleable things in the digital era. I believe there is no darkness deeper than that of the human soul. I'd hate to know what punishment awaits our so-called prankster once the karmic wheel has its way with him.

It really is despicable.

But hasn't this sort of thing been going on since the war in Vietnam or earlier? My father was in the US Army in the early 1970's and I recall a story from my grandparents who had received the same sort of phone call in the middle of the night. They were told their son had been killed in Vietnam. My dad was actually stationed in Berlin as a MP at the time though, so the "prank" didn't really work.

LMAO!

In all seriousness, I don't know much about Canadian law, but I wonder if this would also be seen as a form of fraud as well as general harassment if the caller is impersonating a government official.

I hope the nail that son of a bitch to the wall.

My brother was in the US military (Army and Airforce) if someone called my house with that kind of prank I would be out for blood.

There's no point to this--that I can see--apart from human cruelty.
