DHL employees criminals

As bass buyers and sellars we all have to ship. We've heard nightmare stories about them all. Well, let me tell you my story.

I tpyically ship with UPS. I know a lot of you hate brown but I've had good service from them. As a matter of fact, I can't remember ever having a really big problem with UPS. As a matter of fact, I've received so much stuff that my local driver has gotten to know me and if he knocks and I'm not home, he will wait five or ten minutes for me because he knows what time I typically get home from work. I've actualyl arrived at home to find him waiting. That's awesome.

Anyway, the UPS hub isn't very convienient for me and the retail places (mail boxes etc., post net, etc. ) are too expensive. So I started using DHL (it's just about a mile from my office).

I've shipped three items DHL in the past few months and all three times, DHL charged extra amounts to my card. The first two times were around $30 or so. I challenged it at my bank. My bank looked into it and eventually credited the money back to me.

This last time was the last straw. I shipped a very small item through DHL (yes I know that I shouldn't have used them again). Shipping the item was around eight bucks. They charged that to my account but then two weeks later, they charged $143.93 to my card.

SO I called my bank and they looked into it and found that it was a fraudelent charge. So I got my money back (again). But I don't know who specifically did this. Obviously someone at DHL did it and probably pocketed the money out of the register. Either way, I got my cash back, so it's no big deal. (THough I would like the person responsible caught). But I'm never using DHL again.

That is ridiculous. You authorized them to charge only the amount of the shipping, no more. The charges are fraudulent and I'm glad you got your money back.

Seriously, report it to DHL. I don't think this is something they support, and you'll probably help them by pointing out such behaviour.

Never had any experiences with them, BTW.

Why would you accuse the whole company of being criminals when it's obviously an employee at that particular store?

It was probably just a UPS employeee who turned up at the wrong place for work and then tried to email his office using the cash register. These things do happen.

Show me where in my post that I accuse the entire company of being criminals.
People come on here constantly and bitch about UPS, USPS, etc. All I did was tell my story about DHL and I didn't accuse the entire company. I merely pointed out that they (DHL) employee criminals.

DHL is largely giving up on the US market. It's decreasing coverage, dropping accounts, and purchasing air cargo space from competitors to reduce its own overhead. People didn't like their service and they couldn't afford to continue running their industry at the undercutting prices they were charging.

They're the Behringer of the shipping industry.

There isn't a company on earth that doesn't employ criminals at one time or another through no fault of their own. The way you worded it made it sound like it was company policy to employ them.

DHL sucks, plain and simple. They actually lost an entire drumset that I ordered about 3 years ago. After myself and the shipper told them to just return it to them if it was found, they found it and delivered it two weeks later while I was away on my honeymoon. The guy just left it in my driveway in plain sight for two days. No signature required or anything.

In my area they are always 1-2 days later delivering things than the tracking or the website delivery estimates say and I was actually told by a cutomer service rep that this is because I'm far out of their "local area" and they have to make a special exception to deliver to me. Not only that but they use 3rd party carriers that usually show up in unmarked vans. Once I had a large delivery that arrived, half on one van and half on another 5 hours later in the same day.

I specifically avoid businesses that use DHL unless they can guarantee me UPS or Fedex. I've had minor problems with UPS and Fedex, but nothing major that wasn't resolved.

I just got off the phone with DHL about a lost bass. They found it, and basically said I will receive it when the DHL driver knocks on my door. They are the worst carrier with the worst customer service, and the worst resolution center of any carrier I have ever used. On to the BBB.

Who did you buy the bass from? Like I said I go out of my way to avoid those who use DHL, both Ebay and online stores. I'll check and see if they'll use another courier and if they do then they get my business.

The title of this thread: "DHL Employs Criminals".

That clearly is a reference to the company in general, NOT to a specific branch or location. You did not accuse the entire company of BEING criminals, but the thread title implies that the entire company EMPLOYS criminals.

The title says "DHL Employees Criminals", not Employs.

Either way, employees or employ, it's just saying that there are criminals that work for DHL. It would be different if he had put "DHL are a bunch of criminals".

I am 90% sure my DHL driver signed my name and stole a bass from me. He admitted to forging my sig, but he said he left it on the front steps.

When I tracked it online it said it was at a Regional Hub 2.5 hrs from my house 2 days before the delivery date, when in all actual reality it hadn't even left the hub in Ohio in which there was a departure scan of the package. So somehow it got scanned for departure, and then the label was ripped off so they stuck it with all the unidentifiable packages. It appears they gave up after that.

DHL was a well respected international carrier at one time. They bought out Airborne Express (horrible service) and laid off most of their own workforce and kept the Airborne guys. What a move!
