Spending all that time learning to play guitar hero will definitely seem like a waste of time when this comes out: http://www.guitarrising.com/
If they make sure and work the kinks out, it could be the next best thing. |

This is gaytarded...

This is gaytarded... | Normally I would agree, but the younger generation seems to need instant gratification. Learning a song takes to long. Being told you got 12,567 points this time and beat your best score means you are getting better.
Once you have mastered guitar hero, you wait for the next one. But this looks like you could actually learn some useful skills.
And I'm not against guitar hero. I played it and it was fun. |

You actually play a real guitar, and it gives you feedback on your playing accuracy. If all the kinks are ironed out, I could imagine this, or something like it, making a great learning tool someday.
And I thought I had come up with this idea while I was at work one day.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

At least this one lets you play with a real guitar but still, what ever happened to learning songs by ear? |

all they do is play the stupid game. i told them if they put 1/2 the effort that they put into beating the game on expert into learning real guitar then they would be better than most of the bands that get played on the radio.

Once again not at all like actually playing (drums are close) but lots of fun and you can play four players at a time. Great to build a party around.
