Didn't like Guitar Hero?

Spending all that time learning to play guitar hero will definitely seem like a waste of time when this comes out:

http://www.guitarrising.com/

If they make sure and work the kinks out, it could be the next best thing.

Very interesting.

I'll have to keep an ear out for that when it comes around.

Too hard. I'll stick to not playing any instrument and just hanging in Off-Topic.

Thats almost as cool as having real guitar... Except if you buy a real guitar it has unlimited amount of songs + your own...

This is gaytarded...

Normally I would agree, but the younger generation seems to need instant gratification. Learning a song takes to long. Being told you got 12,567 points this time and beat your best score means you are getting better.

Once you have mastered guitar hero, you wait for the next one. But this looks like you could actually learn some useful skills.

And I'm not against guitar hero. I played it and it was fun.

Actually, this sounds like a good idea. You actually play a real guitar, and it gives you feedback on your playing accuracy. If all the kinks are ironed out, I could imagine this, or something like it, making a great learning tool someday.

And I thought I had come up with this idea while I was at work one day.

I have an profound contempt for Guitar Hero and view it as a symbol of our society's ever increasing demand for instant gratification and a lack of ambition for genuine achievement.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

Ok... how many more friggin' guitar games do we need. Now it's starting to get ridiculous.

At least this one lets you play with a real guitar but still, what ever happened to learning songs by ear?

guitar hero made my friends disappear.

all they do is play the stupid game. i told them if they put 1/2 the effort that they put into beating the game on expert into learning real guitar then they would be better than most of the bands that get played on the radio.

Its a cool idea, but I can think of alot of problems that would make it very difficult to make it work.

pretty much i assume expert is the real song... better than guitar hero i think but guitar hero is entirley diffrent from an actual guitar and people who think just because they can play guitar hero on expert that they can play a real guitar expertly is pathetic... but its a fun game

Forget guitar hero, you have to play Rock Band. Not only do you have guitar but you also have drums, vocals and BASS.

Once again not at all like actually playing (drums are close) but lots of fun and you can play four players at a time. Great to build a party around.

i was playing rock band earlier tonight for the first time, and it's pretty fun. i was able to get in the 90 percents or whatever with bass on hard for some songs. you'd think i know how to actually play or something.
