I recently got my first DSLR and want to expand my knowledge of the world of photography.
Does anyone know of any decent photography forums? |

I'm on www.photography-on-the.net, but it's a Canon forum. You may be chased out, especially if you come in with a Nikon

I've been wanting to learn more as I'm still shooting in automatic!! Granted, a DSLR in auto is still 10x better the old regular dig. camera, but it is kind of like getting a new amp and only knowing how to turn it on, plug it in, and adjust volume.

I just like the interface of the Canon better, but I'm well versed with both my EOS 20D and the Nikon D30.
Best of luck either way you go.

I was impressed with the equivalent Canon, but it was a bit out of my price range. |

I'm by no means an expert on camera equipment though, so all I can say is that I'm happy with it.
Here's a couple of shots from it:
Both have been through some basic post-processing. |

As for the NikonvsCanon debate, I disagree with both - Pentax and Minolta for the win! |

My first SLR was a Minolta X-370, film, which I used for 5 or 6 years before I got my first Digital SLR - Pentax K100D.
still prefer film.
but one of my pals got a Sony A200.. seems like a decent enough body. he got an MD adapter, so I sold him a couple Minolta lenses. |

I really need to start taking pictures again. I've neglected it in recent months.
