DirecTv!

Well folks, it's that time of the year (NFL!) and this time i live with people who love football... This means that package will be cheap as a lot of people are throwing down on it... Also since there is a bbq/party at my house with crap load of people every freaken weekend it would make no sense not to have NFL Sunday Ticket...
(I love my 6 bedroom, 2 livingrooms 2 store house.

Only problem, we got comcast...

So now looking into switching to DirecTv... What do you guys have to say... Positives? Negatives? How to get the best price? Anything i should know?

DirecTV is great. It's probably the most expensive option around here though. We have it out at our land. Great HD picture and channel selection.

The people I know that are picky about picture quality all have DirecTV.
Sunday Ticket is a great bonus (not free) for subscribers. DirecTV paid a boatload of money to keep Sunday Ticket exclusive.

DirecTV has been fine for my family. We have 3 TIVO's, two of which can record 2 programs and allow you to watch a recorded program at the same time. My daughter has DirecTV and has two TIVO's and it seems to be working fine for them.

As far as promotions go, have you logged on their website yet?

Although you still have to watch for the usual gotchas in the mice-type, DirecTV actually has a pretty good deal going for new subscribers who want service and Sunday Ticket.

Though I'm fairly happy with my current arrangement (cable) I am tempted to make the switch myself.

I've had DirecTV for five years now, and I think it's great. The only problem I've ever had is having to go outside in the winter and knock snow off of the dish, and that's only once or twice a year after a big storm.

I like my Comcast.

As for getting the best price, you'll have to play DirectTV against Comcast. Start working a deal and if the rep on the phone is not willing to go the extra mile, excuse yourself from the phone and call back to try a different rep.

I've gone done it now....

Thanks all... ordered directv - so i am stuck with them for 24 months, which is fine... NFL sunday ticket is a big plus... even though my team is a local team it will be fun watching other teams play... especially because we have 6 tvs in the house...
