Dirtbike helmet for mountain bike? Which one?

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I don't have many places to try out helmets around here. I do some downhill stuff and should probably get some heavier protection. I am thinking a dirt bike helmet would work well...maybe a motorcycle helmet.

I reach speeds of 35MPH+ on the road(downhill with a heavy rider )

any suggestions?
Jonathan

I'd say at the very least an HJC full face. There are more expensive helmets out there, but HJC makes a good helmet for the money...

here are some other alternative for lighter versions

I went to a local place and got an HJC.

It cost me $125 with tax. If I fall once it will be worth it.

You don't start believing in God until you hit 55 mph on pavement with nothing between you and the asphalt but a styrofoam helmet and some flimsy lycra. That said, 35 mph on rocks and roots makes you believe in God and the power of prayer. The sensation is kinda like flying low.
