I currently have a 13" Glossy Screen Macbook and it's dirty as hell. I bet a few of you out there have the same laptop so i'm just wondering how you guys go about cleaning them. Let me know because these smudges are killing me. |

To clean the LCD:
1. Turn off the computer or display. You may need to turn off the computer in order to turn off some Apple displays.
2. Dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only.
3. Wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.
You may also use a mild glass cleaner that contains no alcohol or ammonia. Most office supply stores sell cleaning kits specifically designed for this purpose.
While there are many commercial products available that will work without damaging the plastics, Apple has tested a product called Klear Screen made by Meridrew Enterprises ( http://www.klearscreen.com ) and found it does not cause any harm to the plastics. This product may not be available worldwide. |

| | | | get a product for the purpose, preferably something that has a separate bottle and dry wipe, the cans of wet naps dry out too quickly.
iKlear is great but there are cheeper ones.
On glossy you might notice that the cleaning solution leaves a cloudy film on it, in this case take a dry cloth and gently buff the screen to a shine.
Never use anything solvent based like windex or the like. |

Definitely don't use paper towels, they will scratch your screen.
They also make some screen cleaners that come in packets like moist towelettes. |

Now i have about 20 tubes of them dry and useless. I have wet them down in a pinch which works pretty well. |

i keep the cloth in my pocket and use it to clean my glasses, wipe finger prints off my bass and guitars, and clean my camera lens. i should break down and buy about 5 more of those cloths *warranty- 14 days from purchase should not be considered a warranty
