District 9? I loved it! But what about you!?

Ok so I totally loved District 9 but kids at my school hated it for various reasons that don't make much sense. Anyways, the first 15min when the camera was shaky it was giving me a headache and the ending was a bit dragged out. But kids just said it completely sucked, did it really?

This one kid was like "90% of America was disappointed with District 9" and just to mess with his head I replied "82.4% of suck-@$$ movie critics make up statistics to sound smart"

Thanks

loved it... just watched it again last weekend. I hoped with the open ending there would be a sequel.

I liked it enough to buy it on Blu Ray.

See I thought it was great too! I seen it 2 times in theaters!

My only other complaint. It was a long enough movie it wouldn't've made a difference if they cut like the ending (when the ship was getting sucked up) in half and then put what they are going to put in the sequel at the end.

Yes there is going to be a sequel... from what I've read

I thought it was a good movie, although I wasn't a fan of the ending. And the camera at the beginning was a bit bothersome (although it could be a lot worse *COUGHbourneidentity/supremacy/ultimatumCOUGH*.) Nonetheless, it was an interesting concept, and I was entertained throughout.

I was confused by the first part of the movie. I felt that it couldn't decide if it was a serious flick or a campy one. By the mid point in the movie it seemed to find it's way and I enjoyed it much more. Overall I would watch it again. I am sure that I missed some things the first viewing.

I thought it had Full Metal Jacket syndrome: the first third was much better than the rest. Have you seen the short film Alive In Joburg? Its where the idea for the feature film came from, and, for my money, its much better.

As to the overall reception--District 9 got great reviews, and its in the running for best picture. That kid is full of it.

I liked it a lot. Loved the realistic integration of humor in the approach to the plot and subject matter. Really cool movie.

I heard horrible things about it, then I watched it for myself and I thought it was pretty good. Definitely worth watching at least once or twice, even.

I thought it was a pretty good film.

It had a good storyline, some decent action scenes (enough to satisfy the inner sci-fi nerd) and enjoyable characters.

I'm hoping for a sequel, which hopefully will happen considering the open ending and loads of money the film has raked in

Just caught it tonight for the first time and really enjoyed it. The references to racism, tribal gangs, permanent underclass, militarism and occupations all set in South Africa! Only Peter Jackson could manage that. District 10 is coming, I'm sure.

Loved it - finally an alternative to the "cookie cutter" sci-fi of Hollywood. D9 has a unique feel and look.

That would be my assessment as well.
Overall though - loved it.
