ive never had it but my brother has along time ago....Im not a doc but isnt that when hard food such as popcorn, sunflower seeds etc has not been chewed properly and it acumulates in your colon and makes pockets along the lining which accumulates waste and stuff and becomes infected? Gees I am glad I have not had it..Then again My bass playing is better that my poor attempt at a medical diagnosis.

That's the one. I know a few older guys who have it... one charmingly refers to it as "arse rot".

My mom had it after colon cancer surgery. Very painful.

I would suggest a detox/colon cleanse program. And probiotics.

I've got it. Once I learned how to eat right to keep "everything" moving regularly, it doesn't bother me a bit. I even eat the stuff I'm not supposed to, but I get plenty of fiber & roughage. I eat a lot of salads/veggies & fruit, but I don't eat steaks or heavy meat more than 2-3 times a month. Not because these things irritate it, but because they slow down the flow-through & that irritates it. If I feel the "process" slowing down I'll eat a few prunes or drink some prune juice to get back to "regular." Drink plenty of water. I don't even have to think about it now, I just do what it takes & I haven't been bothered in years.

I have it. The first attack was in February. Felt like a knife in my gut, constantly over 2 days. Since then I've avoided seeds/nuts (though my doc said it was ok) and eaten better. Much better. Haven't had fast food in 5 months, lots of water, avoiding processed foods as much as possible, smaller portions, etc. I've lost 40 lbs. Not looking forward to the inevitable next attack down the road, but if there was one positive of the diagnosis, it's that I got my s*** together, health-wise.

I don't have it, but have very similar concerns from an old skiing injury as teen (smashed tail bone) that has caused some circulation and digestive problems for me later in life (42 now).

+1 to just keep everything moving! No Mcdeath burgers or heavy cheese meals (good by carbonara! ) but I've been good since the first surgery.

Never forget that popcorn is now your mortal enemy.
