No. I adopt a proper seating position. If I fail to do so at the beginning, I correct the situation as soon as I feel it.

Pretty common thing. Like LA said. Seat. However, riding a stationary bike in a gym is a crime when you live at the foot of some of the best mountain biking around.

Bad seat and/or bad position on the bike will do this. With gym bikes there's not a lot you can usually do about the seat itself, but try sitting further forward or back, and/or try raising or lowering the seat height until you find a sweet spot. Numb junk is bad.

I'm not an expert, but when the good parts go numb during exercise, I think the response should be, like that doctor joke:
"Don't do that."

somewhat, you're not the 1st to report that. try changing your seating postion a bit.

That used to happen to me when I was riding a lot. I used to stand up in the saddle occasionally to prevent that from happening, but once I did so after my junk numbed up, and the resulting sensation of the area "waking up" made me fall off.

Yep, I used to experience it on my roadbike. It's because the saddle is pressing on the nerves and blood vessels running through the part of your pelvis between your penis and the anus.

A saddle with a hole in it can solve this problem, or a saddle broad enough that it supports your sit bones, so there's no pressure on that area.

Sometimes my sense of self-loathing is numbed a bit after a good workout.

I used to experience this on my road bike whenever I was in the drops, so I went with a seat like this and it worked much better. Although, it took me a while to find shorts that were comfortable for the more narrow saddle.

Typically, most gyms have the "tractor seat". I'd guess you're leaning forward and putting most of your weight on the "love vein". I'd think you should be fine if you straighten out your back and don't lean forward. The seat is probably too high, too.
