Do guitar center employees email you about gear?

So i post gear on craigslist for sale. Usually when i sell something here after shipping I still make more money but at times I wanna move it without shipping and want cash.

Well i do this and a guitar center employee tries getting me to come to the store so he can see it. He also was like can I get a model number on it , I said its simply a musicman SUB. He then was like well come to beaverton , like an hour away and I will make you a offer, as i am asking 400$ firm.

Seriously?

It's happen to me a few times. I usually tell them exactly how me coming into the store will go down, how they'll say something is wrong with the bass and it's not worth X so they'll offer me Y, and then they'll turn around and sell it for Z and make a hefty profit from it. I then tell them that if they want it they can purchase it for what I was asking because I'm not budging. They never respond to that.

I never had a Guitar Center employee contact me about gear, but I was selling a motorcycle a couple months ago and got several emails from local dealers.
One actually said, and I quote, "When you get tired of dealing with the public, bring that bike over here and I'll give you $2000 cash."
Sold the bike to an individual the next day for my full asking price of $3500.
I used to go to the dealer in question for parts all the time. Never will again. Just because of that guy's attitude.

lol. Another TB'er said he took in his Warwick (I believe) SSII to a guitar center hoping to get a fair price, but they ended up offering him $350.

Either that employee thought it was a Rockbass Streamer or he was hoping the TB guy didn't know what he had and was trying to take him for a fool. Either way, that would be reason enough for me to not go to that store for a loooong time.

The Fort Collins Guitar Center actually gave me a really good deal on my kids drum set on trade. $550.00 for the kit, Another $150.00 for the cymbals and kick pedal. Then for some reason they didn't take any of the hardware even though it was only 2 years old and in mint condition due to it only be stored in my kids room and never moved. When I bought his kit 2 years ago, I got it on sale with the kit, hardware, cymbals, kick pedal and throne for $850.00. It was a Tama Superstar I think. Normally with everything it was double the cost but the store had it on discount and wanted to move it bad.

I'll probably sell all of the Tama hardware on ebay or locally when I get around to it so overall, I don't think I did to bad. I ended up trading it in on a Taylor acoustic guitar that was also on sale.
