I've seen Blues Brothers hundreds of times. So many times that I don't pay close attention when it's on, but like it in the background. I had no idea there was an extended version. I was completely confused when new scenes snuck in that I swear I had never seen before. I started wondering if I'd ever really WATCHED the movie ( or if I'm just losing it). Thanks for confirming I'm not completely nuts...
Don't put words in my mouth.
Seriously, I will NEVER watch the extended version again- my son stuck it in, I'm guessing he was thinking 'more is better'
Dunno bout the sequel- I've inadvertantly seen a clip or two & will make every effort to see NO MORE. A kid? Wrong, just wrong. The very idea should have died w/Belushi, RIP.
Nine times out of ten, the restoration of footage to an "extended version" proves that they made the right decision leaving the footage out the first time. There are occasional exceptions.

The only exception that I can think of are the LOTR movies. The extended versions are way better.
