I paid import taxes for a used bass coming from the States to Canada. How much depends on the set price. The lower, the less you pay, but then again, the lower the set pice is, the lower the insurance value is. So say the set price is $100.00 and the bass is worth $1000.00 and they lose it...

In my case, (it was a trade) I had to pay import taxes but the US citizen didn't.

I don't know the % but I paid ~ $130.00 for a set price of $1000.00 US.

Haha I said around $130.00! It actually was something like $136.xx. And it was ~ $130.00 CAN and the price set was $1000.00 US.

Even there, the OP isn't from Canada so maybe it's different?

I win
