do you actually KNOW any famous people?

Does anyone here actually know (maybe just an acquanitance) a famous person? This has to be someone you actually know/knew, and who actually knows/knew who you are/were. Maybe you went to high school with them. Or maybe you were friends with them in college? Maybe worked with them before they made it big? Former neighbor? Heck... a close friend, even?

If you just met a famous person, or opened up for a famous band at a club/arena, those don't count. You actually had to know them prior.

The closest example I can think of is former Chicago Bear William Perry. When I used to live in South Carolina, I met him once at a community festival or something (I forget exactly what it was). We shook hands and talked for a while. I ended up running into him several times, and he remembered me. I doubt he would now though. This has been 20 plus years ago.

I knew some because of my job working on in home PC repair. Some Washington Redskins (retired and active) that knew me on a first name basis and some political figures that had my family come over and hang out and go to some really cool events that I can't really mention on here.

I have lost contact with them over the years but it was fun while it lasted.

Back in my teenage years we had neighbors who had four boys who were avid hockey players, Bobby, Steve, David, and Peter Kasper. One of the brothers, Steve Kasper, made it to the National Hockey League in 1980. He played for the Boston Bruins for a number of years, then Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Tampa Bay before retiring in 1993. I've lost track of him since then, I have no idea what he's up to nowadays. Whatever it is, I'm sure it's hockey-related. Like a lot of Canadian kids, the Kasper brothers lived, ate, breathed and crapped hockey!

I watch several friends on a tv series every week. I also watch my friend's kids (drummer from old band) on one of the biggest sitcoms. Having lived in LA that's pretty normal.

I went to high school with John, Joan and Ann Cusack, and also Jeremy Piven's older sister. I also roomed across the hall from Will Calhoun (Living Color) for a semester at Berklee.

Oddly enough, I don't know any famous people, and I've lived in the LA area my whole life.
