Hah, I know it sounds hypocritical cause i said this in the thread on inflamatory remarks earlier but I really dont see this as political. The guy was right that is really wasnt.

As soon as I see it become political & offense, i'll let somebody know.

It's not because of the polictical but rather the sticky subject of the religiousical (yes I know that's not a real word).

Hmm. Can people not say whether or not they believe and why without getting angry?

No and No.

I also think this will get shut down because religious threads are also a no-no.

Jarrhead - please read the rules you signed up to when you joined before posting anything else at all. Okay?

Whether this deserves an infraction is something I'll leave to OT mods/admin colleagues. I've alerted them to this and I'm sure they'll be along shortly to delete.

As I said (clearly, I thought), read the rules.

Right at the top of the off topic forum.

Off topic rules" PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST!.

Quote:
No Political or Religious Threads
Please do not create threads on the topic of specific religions (for example, threads that debate the merits of a particular religion), or political debate. Religious/political discussions are challenging enough to moderate when people are face-to-face... In an impersonal, anonymous medium such as this, such threads tend to require constant moderation, create enemies out of prior friends, and generate more hate and anger than anything else. There are a plethora of other forums on the internet dedicated to such discussion, if that's what floats your boat. If you want to discuss religion on TalkBass, the limited-access Lounge Lobby forum is available for such discussion (Supporting Membership required).

I do too. Mostly because I see a bunch of different churches on my way to work. Apparently one of them sells chicken.

This forum doesn't have the hand-clapping smiley, otherwise I would have used it here. Til they adopt that smiley, you get this for making me spit on my keyboard.

i actually find it funny that people get so worked up over religion sometimes. we had a group at my school, just a group of like twelve or so of my friends, who met once a week to discuss religious issues and points of view, i'm actually surprised it didn't get out of control. we had a lot of different religious views, the discussion were aimed at merely understanding one another's beliefs, and it was very interesting. you can learn a lot in those kinds of discussions, but not if you get upset and defensive.

that said, idk if i believe in the paranormal or not. i haven't had an experience with it, so i'm skeptical. though i suspend my disbelief long enough to watch ghost hunters. SEASON PREMIERE TONIGHT AT 9!!!

lol
