Do you change your mind about posting

Sign in to disble this ad
I find that at least half the time after I hit the button and start typing my response to a thread, I think better of it and quit without posting. Is this something particular to my personality or do any of you folks do the same? Do women do this more than men?

I wonder if it is because I feel I have more at stake online than other people due to the fact that I have almost no human contact except for online and on the phone.

Maybe it has something to do with carrots.

Curious,
S

What ridgeback said. Usually, I look at what the people before me said and think to myself, this is just not worth it.

Forcing myself to hit post reply on this one...tempted to go back and just leave it alone.

I do it all the time, more often I find myself not posting a new thread after I type at least half of one up.

Every once in a while I'll stop mid-post and quit. Most of the time I'll post it then edit it.

This thread will provide an ironic example of "survivor bias" I suspect.

More than often I completely disagree with the OP and would like to say so but I'm too lazy or impaired to develop so I just let go.

All the time. I'll get something typed out and like others said, maybe it sounds like it could be taken wrong so I wont submit. I hate these "cyber fights" (very childish) and try to avoid them as much as possible.

This is me exactly.
Also it seems that often after I do post something, no one posts after me, therefore I call myself "The Great Thread Killer"

If it happens now...sorry!

Ditto. Normally the reasons are that the question is not worth answering, I don't know enough to answer confidently or I've lost interest
