I've lived in Colorado Springs, CO for about 15 years now. I've gotten to despise it and hate it here. It's like the most beautiful girl in the world but is dumber than a bag of hammers.
Aside from how beautiful it is here, I can't think of any reason to like it here anymore. Unfortunately, I'm stuck here and can't get out right now.
City gov't sucks. Jobs suck. Way too much military. Traffic is horrid. Music scene, nothing. Concerts, you have to go to Denver and hope you don't get killed on I-25 trying to get up there.

It has horrible street planning, is grungy, and suffers from a bad case of stunted growth. But it also has some good points too. Not my first choice of locale but its where life has taken me for now.

Pros: Great variety of music, restaurants, bars. There's ALWAYS something to do, literally, every night of the week.
Cons: Taxes, cost of living, public transportation, transportation prices, gas, traffic, and homeless people. I guess crime is pretty bad too, but that's what you get for living in a big city.

I'm from Wichita, which isn't exactly a cultural mecha, and yeah... Colorado Springs sucks. Terrible city full of strip malls and soccer moms as far as I could tell during the 4 days I was there about 5 years back.
Honestly, I really love it here. Awesome music scene (not many venues, but a lot of great bands) and an extremely low cost of living.

| | Yeah, I've got the moves like Jagger. | | Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: G.R. MI | | | I love where I live for the most part. There have been a lot of burglaries in my neighborhood the last year or 2, and last night there was an armed robbery (Guy on the street got held up at gun point) and a home invasion all within a 5 minute drive of my home.
It seems to be escalating, and I gotta say it concerns me.

It's always cold, the food sucks, the women are fat, beer is warm, people are rude, fire is routine, it always rains, they have no snow strategy in the winter....you should all stay away if at all possible.
I'll find a way to stick it out. |

| | | | I love Seattle. Love it. Traffic sometimes sucks, the current mayor is an ass, the way things are dealt with are a little weird (public funds for stadiums voted down twice, public funds used anyway, for example), but I still get a thrill coming over one of the many hills and seeing the mountains.
I've been here for thirteen years and I don't think that will ever get old. I also don't mind the grey and generally cool weather. It rarely gets too hot or too cold, there are no cockroaches, the music scene is a little weird but neither of my bands, which do originals, has much of a problem booking weekend shows.... I don't know, I can't really imagine living anywhere else.

I've lived here since 1961 and still love it, like all large cities it has it's bad points but the good outweighs it by far. I have some family obligations and of course my band so they keep me here - eventually that will change tho and I'll move to Pt. Angeles, out on the Olympic Peninsula - beautiful country. |

About an hour away from DC if I want to go see some big name acts as they come through. Music scene here is kinda meh, but it's functional. However I don't like the general population around here much. Too much camo (non-military, aka trailerflage or ghettoflage), truck nuts, and NASCAR. |
