Do you have flood insurance? Don't rely on the goverment to make you whole.

Last week we had a large amount of rain in a short period of time. The result was flashflooding/street flooding. A lot of houses had ruined carpet, etc.

The local news interviewed a young woman that seemed mad that FEMA was only going to supply enough funds for very basic necessary items. I guess she was expecting to have her home repaired by the goverment. It made me kinda mad because looking at her house, cars, etc. they were not low income or wanting for anything.

Friends of mine were flooded a while back, needed new carpet, sheetrock, flooring, etc. Not in a flood zone, so no flood insurance. FEMA gave them a check for $1200. Didn't cover much.
