Who has a recurring dream or has a recurring theme in their dreams.
I've had dreams about zombies ever since childhood and to this day I remember having zombie themed dreams about once a month.
It's strange that none of these dreams are actually scary for me and they are almost always different in their content, plot and details (except for the fact that they have zombies in them).

My memory is sketchy, but the house we were living in at the time was surrounded by 55 gallon drums filled with gas. The house was on fire and my mother was in the attic. Don't remember much of what happened in the middle of the dream, but when I got to the attic the house blew up.
It was pretty Freudian now that I think about it.
I remember the feeling of having a difficult time trying to reach her, and when I did I could not convince her to leave.
Hmmmmmm, what can I blame on her?? |

I had one really vivid dream not even a week ago. I hope this one does not come back.
The dream was of me sleeping at the edge of my bed facing out towards my room. The door creaked open and in walked a little girl that was very reminiscence of the girl in the movie The Grudge. She walked up to me right by my head as I slept and she just stared at me like in the movie through her stringy hair.
At this point I was actually scared and remember my heart beating very fast. I reached for the light above my head and turned it on. When the light came on she was gone. The weird part was that I was not awake yet. I awoke just after that only to find that the light was not on.
Never had that type of dream before where you think you woke up, but really didn't. Very strange feeling.

Very strange feeling. | I can only think of one time that I've had an experience like this. I had a dream that one of my sisters was killed in a car accident. In the dream, I woke up and didn't know whether or not it was true but everyone was acting weird. It was an awful experience. I was so relieved when I finally woke up.
Sometimes when I get bad headaches, I'll start dreaming; it'll usually be unpleasant. I'll wake up in the middle of the night and realize that I was only dreaming. When I fall back asleep, the dream resumes and I have some degree of control over the situation. The same thing will repeat a couple of times throughout the night. It really gets under my skin when I'm trying to sleep and can't because I keep having this long, drawn out nightmare.

Have been out of school for 25 years, but I still have these dreams:
- It's back to school in September, and I don't have my schedule. I don't know where to go.
- A whole semester goes by, and I realize - I wasn't attending one of the classes. I'm going to fail.
- It's right before graduation time and I discover - I don't have enough credits.
- I have been out of college for years, and I discover - I don't actually have a degree. I never did enough credits to finish.
- I'm driving back to school in September, and I don't have a place to stay.

Never had that type of dream before where you think you woke up, but really didn't. Very strange feeling. | This would have been the perfect opportunity for you to become lucid in your dream. I cant easily become lucid, but typically if i am having a very horrifying dream, your mind recognizes that you are in a dream, and typically choose to wake up. Instead of actually waking up, recognize that you are dreaming, and continue with the dream! Another reason this would be particularly effective with this dream, is that there is a technique of determining if you are dreaming. If you are not sure if you are dreaming, try to turn on/off a light switch. If you are in fact dreaming, the light switch will have no effect on the current luminosity.

I always make the decision to wake up and escape the dinosaur that's chasing me (or whatever it may have be), and then instantly after I wake up I think "why didn't I take the opportunity for a lucid dream!?"
Anyway, back on topic, I've never had the same dream twice, that I can recall.

Most of the dreams I have are of this random conversation with real people I actually know. It'll start in the middle of the conversation, include a whole bunch of random stuff, and then abruptly end.
The weird part is that the conversations usually happen in real life like a week or two later. Deja vu type stuff. But its never anything important, just random parts of conversations. |

Nope - never had recurring dreams - I think this means you are uncertain about your sexual orientation!!

| | | I've often had dreams around having my hair cut as punishment if I don't do something. It's a highschool metalhead worst nightmare
Once, my dream ended with me surfing across the ocean, slowly speeding up to ridiculous speed. At that moment, credits show up, some cheesy tune starts playing in the background, and I wake up with the entire tune in my head, lyrics and everything. I must have heard it somewhere that day, or someone in the neighborhood was playing it while I was asleep, but it sure felt like hearing it for the first time.

Not in last 10 years or so, but I had two that recurred every once and a while for about 20 years.
The older one (~8-27 years old) was an old abandoned empty 2 (or 3 I'm not sure) story grey wooden house, which didn't have any staircase or anything on the base floor, just two or three rooms. I climbed upwards through a narrow maintenance elevator shaft (we don't generally have those in Finland) to the second or possibly to the third floor. The shaft got tighter and tighter as I grew up over the years, but I never got stuck. The floor I climbed into was as empty as the base floor, with no staircases and just a couple of windows. From the windows, only fields and forests were seen. Sometimes I went back through the shaft, sometimes not.
On the second one (~14-30), I was searching for someone. There was about 1 km diameter dish-like valley with houses on the bottom. I always started from the stone stairs of the old church on the edge of the ridge that surrounded the valley and by foot, I went to that same house on the end of the one exact block. Over the years people who opened the door changed like time passed in there as well, but I never found out either the person I was searching for or even who it was.
I'd guess that I saw the first one about 50 times and the second one slightly fewer times.
There was some analogies to the places I was living in when I was younger on the second one, but only the location and the shape of the house I visited. None in the first.
Now as I think about those dreams, I find it strange that on the first one, the general weather was misty/cloudy as in late in the afternoon and the second one about mid-day. But both were always on summer as the grass and trees were green. But then again I've never been much of a winter/cold/snow type of a person.
Now, the dreams I only "watch" once, those are something else .
Regards
