Do you have a sense of humor?
I made a thread ( I think Fender should....... ) as a joke. Some people didn't seem to get it and if they did they got all offended because it was kind of poking fun at something they have a loyalty to. I also made a joke in another thread and you would have thought I started W.W.IX. The thread was a satirical look at Fender brand loyalty and the other joke was poking fun at Thrash Metal. It seems that people who are loyal to these two things either have no sense of humor or they don't tolerate humor with that particular subject. Have you noticed this? Can you joke about most things but have something that you think just shouldn't be joked about?

Your thread didn't seem like a joke on fender. And from the first two pages ( I got bored after two) no one seemed to be rallying against you. And yes, I have a great sense of humor.

+1. Comparing people who post about Fenders to six-year-olds probably isn't gonna go over too well. Also, let's face it--you're obsessed with people posting about Fenders "too much" or something.

You might be dying. You'd better get your senses checked. Do you ever find yourself answering the waffle iron, eating the car freshener, or trying to grab ahold of farts? There might be something wrong with you.

I read thru your thread & saw it as a joke. People got involved & added some silliness.

Where the negativity comes in is that sometimes some posters tend to piss on anything and either just want to ruin everyone elses fun or they take things the wrong way & have a hard time comprehending satire, sarcasm, or humor.

If you can't stand what people have to say, then don't post things people might find objective. Everyone has an opinion, just like you do, and you're bound to peeve some people off. That said, a smiley will do wonders to show that you're joking.

The problem with what I see, say, 95% of the time is that msg board so-called "humor" is rarely in good fun but rather is always filled with an agenda or malice.

There will be plenty of smartass sarcastic remarks that always have some little bit of venom attached to it. And that's not something I'm willing to participate nor tolerate, anymore. For those reasons, I stay away from these kinds of comments... and in the off-topic forums of places like this, I find that these remarks oftentimes overwhelm most threads.

Rare are the ones where the humor is in good fun with no negativity attached to the comment... and frankly, I've grown tired of these.

I have a fantastic sense of humor, don't take myself seriously, and can joke with pretty much anybody. But it seems that the same people I joke with in real-life turn into douches behind a keyboard.

There's something about anonymity that sparks the feeling that they can always have the last word, think of the most negativity-filled smartass comment they can come up with, and post it with a feeling of "There! I showed him! I'm funnier & better than he is!" kind of attitude.

Ribbing is overrated and I see it so often that it's akin to hearing the same song a thousand times in a row. Enough already.

It has run its course and I'm ready for some peppy positive enthusiasm-filled people to post and hopefully, they'll eventually overtake the people who pride themselves into thinking they're funny smartasses when in fact they're just making fools of themselves... and revealing more about their personal insecurities than they'd like.

Just because you can post something doesn't mean you should.

"It's funny because it's true" is how I'd put that

Proving my point tenfold.

And this is my last post to you. Keep your negativity to yourself, please.

I'm the generic chubby, curly-haired guy that's whole purpose in society is to be funny....

I actually joke around a lot, but sometimes my sense of humor can go from playful to extremely sarcastic, dark, or dry.

So, I guess I have a decent sense of humor, if from nothing more than an occasional "what's the deal with airline food?"

You're joking, right? If not, a simple "no" would have sufficed for your answer.
