I like rainbows, they brighten up an otherwise rainy day.

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
and what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
and rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it.
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard
and answered when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it.
Look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing
and what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

All of us under its spell. We know that it's probably magic.

Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors.
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Rainbows are like most attractive women I have met in my life. When you see them from a distance you can admire their beauty, and as you move in for a closer look they just disappear.

How can you turn a beautiful natural phenomenon into a logo for a lifestyle choice? It's just a little bit of a rip off, I can't stick a rainbow bumper sticker on my car without people assuming things. It's a little weird.

Plus, Rainbow was a bad ass band.

Everytime I see a gay rainbow sticker I confuse it with the De Colores sticker.

I was thinking why it's used myself. I suppose as a symbol of diversity and what not. A banner of pride to what was, and I suppose in some places still is, a downtrodden minority.

Also the rainbow as a beautiful natural occurence is reflective of a lifestyle that the gay community see as natural and beautiful.

I never saw a gay rainbow sticker. They must not be common around Polk Co. Florida We hang fake nutsacks from our reciever hitches but no rainbow stickers As far as real rainbows, we have them almost every afternoon from May to October. Sometimes 3-4-5 or more at once.....usually accompanied by lightning. No pots O gold though

That's fine, but a gay lifestyle isn't the only beautiful natural occurrence in the world. It's a little lame is all.

I enjoy a rainbow after a brief summer shower.

When I was in New Zealand, rainbows seemed to be their chief export.
