Reminds me of that old joke. The two best days in your life...the day you buy your boat and the day you sell it.

Very cool. I used to belong to a recreational rowing club, but all we had were Aldens.

cool man. Ive been rowing my whole life starting when I was 14

I raced eights, fours and quads. Been to many regattas and national championships. It was my main sport in High School (college didnt have a program because we were in the mountains but I still go out with my buddies in their shells).

My brother rowed the varsity eight at Brown and I used to go to lots of regattas with my whole family back then. He got fairly close to making the Olympics, but they just took the top college or club team back then, which made it pretty tough.

We always had little rowboats when I was a kid, there were no ocean skulls back then really. It's a little too windy here too often to justify buying one, but my wife and I have discussed it many times.

ya, theyre expensive bastards for the investment and for upkeep, but it is just wonderful exercise and a great deal of fun. Theres nothing like hoping in a shell at 5:00am and getting a workout in before work on nice Spring day with calm waters.

Aren't they all...

My other brother used to own this 48' cat and run charters in the Caribbean. Talk about a money hole! Besides the cat he had to keep up an Avon dinghy, sea kayak, and enough windsurf stuff to stock a small store.

heh, my grandpa only fishes from piers....he says a boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into...

i'd like to get a small john boat or something for lake fishing. although i do so much finishing now that i'm sure that day is in the distant future...

I have a 1978 Ski Nautique. Pulls like a truck, outruns newer boats and I ski off it every Mon and Friday in the summer.

Sure the newer boats have a nicer wake but they don't have the character of this one. Plus it's paid for.
