A zipper for convenience but buttons on loose-fitting trousers for 'light & fluffy' ventilation.

Zipper's nice for quick release when just painting a urinal, but I like the security of a button fly; feels more solid, and I never have to do the "fly check" move.

But to answer the question, I've never owned button flys, and i've been around long enough to remember when they were new and hip. Lame then, lame now.
