Do you take care of you iPod?

Sign in to disble this ad
Simple question...
Do you take care of your iPod?

I treat mine better than my wife. Wait that does not sound good at all. I would totally take a bullet for my wife...and or the iPod. But in all seriousness I treat it like its a brand new baby or something. Each movement is careful thought out. It goes back into the nice little sleeve that it came with love. For the whole year plus that I have had it there are minimal scratches and such. I am also surprised that I have not got some aftermarket shield for it yet.

But do you? Does it matter to you?

Thanks.

I don't give a **** what my iPod looks like. It plays my music just as well as it did before the scratches and dents.

I take good care of mine as well. One and a half years after first buying it, the clear plastic film on the screen is still intact.

I try to avoid it being scratched, dropped or hit by something, but that's about it. I don't like it, but I use it since I don't care for buying another mp3-player. I already thought it died once, but it came back to life. I don't know if I'm happy about it or not...

Three and a half years and it still works like the day I bought it.

I'll have had my 10Gig for 6 years next month. It still works, not really like new, but well enough.

+1. While I don't consciously abuse my iPod, I don't care in the least if it gets scratched up.

I bought a case for it, but I really don't care if it gets scratched up. That being said, I'm always very, very careful with it.

Yes. I have it in a Belkin case and I could sell it as new. I bought it a year ago and there is not a scratch on it.

My iPhone and iPod I take pretty good care of, but my $200 Etymotic HF-2 Earphones fell out of my pocket and on to the street and got run over by a bus about 2 weeks ago. Needless to say they sound a little "flat" at the moment.

I had an Ipod Mini for a year and a half beat the hell out of it, at 8-10 hours a day the battery only lasted a year, after that, the battery was good for an hour or so, then the clickwheel never unclicked.
I' had a zune30 for year then upgradded to a 80 they all get the same kind of use, it seems the Zune is a better product.

Nowadays it mostly only gets used for running and long car trips. Otherwise it sits in a rubber sleeve. When it's on my arm, it's in a Nike armband, and when it's in the car, it's cradled in a Belkin iTrip. I love my Nano, it still looks pretty close to brand new. I wish I could say the same about my laptop.

+1! I've kept mine in a hard, rubber and plastic case. Despite dropping it from about shoulder height on to the street several times, it still runs great. I'm ready for a new one with more capacity, though.

Reasonable care as with any delicate instrument. It's been onboard for several deployments and quite a few mtn bking trips (and spills)

I fix about 10 Ipods a month, so mine (3 of them) is made from the orphaned parts of people not willing to spend to have them repaired.

One i use for jogging, one I use to transport music to and from work. the third i gave to my wife. both of mine are scratched up pieces 'o crap, but I don't abuse them. They still seem to die after about a year. Her's is in the exact same shape as I gave it to her.

As a contrast I'm still on my first Zune, and somehow I haven't managed to scratch it yet, and the wireless sync on it is the bomb!!! (two years)
