Do you think Mothers or Fathers or more likely to emasculate their Children ? This is more in the metaphorical use of the term.

For those who don't know Emasculate means to weaken or to deprive of strength.

I'm going to say Mother only because my father was super hard on me and I turned out to be a very strong centered person.

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

I love my dad but he "busts my balls" more than my mother does.

Most definitely. As a child I was seen and not heard, and I have always been a very outspoken person so not being able to voice my opinion for the longest time really discouraged me a lot as a kid.

Interestingly enough it is coupled with this gem:

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

Let me also add that if you do make it thru your childhood still intact....getting married will quickly take care of it!

A mother raising a son without a man to help guide the male child in the ways of masculinity will end up with either an emasculated man, or a highly irresponsible, disrespectful misogynist. A father who is too harsh will end up with the same. Mommas are there to pick us up and comfort us. Daddys are there to toughen us up. Each steps into the other role occasionally, but primarily this is the case.

It's not just sons. Daughters need a father to show her what a good man is like and a mother to show her how to be a woman. A son needs a father to show him how to be a man and a mother to show him what a good woman is like. Idealistic? probably. I'm not a perfect father/husband and my wife is not a perfect mother/wife, but together we are doing our best to raise our daughter to become a good woman who will marry a good man and carry on the tradition into her own family.
