hey, I think it would be cool...when I married my soon to be ex hubby, he wore a tux with a tails...thought it was really nice!

Do it. If it is nice, it will be classy. Just don't wear it if it doesn't fit well, nothing says sloppy like a ill-fitting suit.

I'd say go for it. I wanted to go to prom in a suit like that for my senior prom (still want to find one like that), but couldn't find one. Make sure to get a monocle along with the cane.

If your prom is anything like ours was, then I would really advise against it. There were many people who didn't get the deposits back from their rented tuxes...
