Does this sound like RSI?

k... before we start, if this injury (?) starts getting any worse, or doesn't clear up soon, I'll be going to the doctor... so 'get to the doctor now!' replies, whilst appreciated, aren't needed

I need some input from guys who have had hand injuries before, and whether what i'm about to describe sounds familiar:

I work for a web design agency, and most of my day is spend with my right hand over a mouse, with my right thumb touching the side of the mouse

at the beginning of last week (after a gig on the Saturday and the Sunday), my thumb started occasionally twitching (more like a slight quivering tremor every so often) whilst holding the mouse... this has continued, and my thumb/forefinger 'pinch' grip feels a little weak and slightly numb... holding a pick also feels weak

I play mostly with a pick, and I play pretty hard generally and am worried that the force of downstrokes has caused some damage to the 'heel' area of my thumb...

I've played for 20 years with no injuries at all, and am rather concerned that this is the start of something not good

any thoughts or experience? (please don't say 'play with your fingers', although i'm concerned it might come to that)

does this sound like RSI? I really don't want to have to rest my hand, I've just bought a new Strat

Go see a doctor!

Sorry, couldn't resist

Yes, it sounds like RSI, or at least the beginnings of it. Listen to your body. Rest is key.
Oftentimes NSAID:s like ibuprofen or aspirin will be useful if taken early.

The cramping grip of your mouse will likely be the biggest problem.

I'm a programmer, and I often find myself holding the mouse in a vice-like grip for no particular reason. I switched hands, and while that was initially cumbersome I am now ambidexterous as far as the mouse is concerned.

You should also look at how your wrist looks when you're playing. Make sure not have it bent like you're suffering from some kind of palsy. That pinches the tendons, and can be a trigger for inflammation in them. With the ensuing swelling, and hence increased pinching. You get the picture?
