She spends a good amount of time on geneology, historical research for publication, and teaching adult education.

One upon a time she played DB, she hasnt touched one in a very long time.

No. And it's terrible trying to justify having one (especially an expensive one) to someone who doesn't.

yes, she reads a lot and attends sporting events when funding is available.

She is also the type of person who goes makes her lunch for the next day immediately after dinner, goes to bed at the same time every night. Me? I have WAY too many interests, but it adds to the chaos (fun) in life.

actually my wife has and has had a series of really varying hobbies - roller derby, kickboxing, gourmet cooking, etc She just never sticks with any of them for too long. Art is the only one that she's managed to be consistent with.

My wife's a musician also. Her primary instrument is clarinet but she also plays piano and has dabbled in guitar and violin. She plays clarinet in a "town band" that does all the civic ceremonies, parades, events, etc. and also plays clarinet in a local orchestra.

My husband's hobby is restoring old cars. Actually, it makes it much easier for me to justify buying a new bass, because I could buy a lot of basses before it would cost as much or take up as much space as just one of his cars!

+1. With no real interests, my biking, brewing, and bass are easily seen as an obsession by her.
