Used to run the headphone output from my TV to my receiver and get half-way decent sound. R.I.P Don.... )-(

As a couple of well-known characters in All In The Family used to sing, "Those were the days"! Heady days indeed!
RIP Mr.Kirshner.

| | | RIP, Don...good work, I know you brought some pleasure in my teen life. Well done!
Yes, In Concert was a great thing, too!
As a 14-teen year old wannabe, SEEING my favourite Rock bands was "it". Those shows also reintroduced me to what I also liked as a kid: R&B. I recall an In Concert show with Curtis Mayfield & band doing "Freddie's Dead"...blew me away. Also, I think the first time I heard "Superstition" was on one of those shows...it was Stevie Wonder & it Rocked!
BTW, anyone recall a VH-1 special about The Monkees? It was called Daydream Believers...probably still available on DVD (I bought it a few years back). Anyway, Kirschner is portrayed in this...at first, everyone loved him...then they wanted to give him das boot (since he was about studio musicians & A-list songsmiths)...then, after Headquarters (The Monkees playing/singing with others)...they return to Kirschner's formula (without him) for the next few albums.
Anyway, it's a worthy biopic...well done.
