I have to agree that our current drug classification system is wrong on multiple levels; however, there is some of this I don't agree with. Its also worth noting that the study also doesn't include crime related to drug trafficking, nor does it include other flaws of the illegal trade such as impurities, unknown dosages, etc.

Though I have some conflicting thoughts on the matter. Since, culturally, we view drugs and other intoxicants as recreational activities. That works very well for Alcohol, and to a lesser degree marijuana, but it's a terrible mindset to have when contemplating the use of LSD, or any other psychedelic.
Ecstasy, from what I understand, is pretty much the ultimate recreational drug, though I've never tried it myself. |

FWIW I don't even smoke the green stuff anymore.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I give it 5-10 years tops before it's largely on the same legal plane as alcohol. There simply are no rational reasons to continue prohibition.

That is kind of messed up. | Thats because movie stars need their blow and it'll be a lesser drug charge.

That is kind of messed up. | Like I said, pretty outdated, eh?
Ecstasy is only dangerous when impure (like many of our illegal drugs are). It stands against logic the way the system works, but then again hemp was made illegal because of lobbying.

Downers on the other hand should be left for the individual to assume the risks.
