DTV Converter Boxes / Signal

Sign in to disble this ad
Right now I get the 6 analog channels (abc-nbc-cbs-pbs-cw-fox) perfect to almost perfect, but when I set-up a DTV converter – I only got 1 channel. I took it back, and got another kind, but same thing – 1 channel. I have a tall outdoor antenna that rotates right now, however I do live in an outlying area, and if it doesn’t work here – it won’t anywhere else near here either so everyone is screwed. I guess I’m going to have to break down, and get satellite TV. I have a heavily wooded acreage, and don’t want to saw a bunch of trees down to "aim" the dish. I feel like I’m being forced into “PAY TV” because of the DTV changeover.

strange... we put in a box at work and get more channels, plus they are crystal clear. not saying you are doing something wrong, but do you have your tv on channel 3, while using the DTV remote to change channels?

Yep - its on 3 - I'm going to check into different types of antenna's. DTVanswers said some VHF channels are now broadcast in UHF for DTV. I'm not using a UHF antenna right now. Maybe that's the problem.

not created equal

Some DTV converters pick up better than others. I had a magnavox which sucked. Then after more research decided to get an Artec T3A pro, which works much better. I found it online at www.getdtvready.com for just $4.99 after coupon.

The only winning move is not to play.

Are all of the stations in your area broadcasting in digital yet? If not, you wouldn't be able to pick up a DTV signal that doesn't exist.

Ouch, that's a bummer. I lived with satellite tv for 15 years and I haaaaaaaaaaaaated it.
