Ok, just like any of the other clubs that identify us as group.
I made my way to TB, via Steve Barr's "Dude Pit", I do not want this to become a negitive thread and will ask the mod's to kill it if it goes that way. However, I think it could be a cool way to keep some of the really good things alive
just take the next number and list it with your old handle if different
example

I've always loved old Gibson basses (my first "real" bass as a 76 G-3), and loved the Gibson forum there. Lots of great guys and really great information to had there. Uwe was a great guy, with the bass collection to end all bass collections! Let's see... I had a couple of different names over time there... I know the original for sure...

It was a seriously great bunch of guys all in all. I don't think any of us that were there want to re-hash everything, but I know that just like Dave, I see screen names over here and wonder if they are any of the same guys from over there.

Shame it fell apart, but Steve kept his word to me on dealings I did with him. I do not, however, wish to be part of any new DP-numbered club here. Sorry, just not a fan of those things. |

I stopped going there when it would be a new format and on a new location at least once a month. I ordered some stuff from Steve and got it, but the place got barren in a hurry. |

I got my Buttercream Sterling H/S through Steve by way of Jack.

I miss the old forum on ho-bags. Nothing like that here. I especially liked the total POS bass that got passed around between forum members. It had a crappy stompbox mounted on the front, and the volume knob was off an old light dimmer. Classic. I totally would have gigged that turd.
I don't miss the drama from the final days, but I do wish the best for those involved. |
