DVD Players with USB option

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I got tired of DVD's I had being scratched over time and transfered about a 100 or so DVDS and several HBO/Showtime box sets to my iMac.

I'm curious if I could dump the movies, as well as .avi movie files I have, onto a thumb/flash drive and hook them directly to a DVD player to play on a TV.

Any direct experience with this?

I doubt you'll find a DVD player that will do that, but an Xbox 360 would fit the bill nicely.

Does your computer have an HDMI output? If so, just hook it directly up to your TV.

Yes, there are some dvd players that have that functionality. There are also alternatives. I no longer use a dvd player. I have a Iomega ScreenPlay (older model). It plays digital audio and video files as well as pictures.

I stand corrected, then. I've never heard of a DVD player with a USB port!

These are all good options!!!! See this is why, and I"m directing thisCapt Obvious' for the sarcastic post, I look to TB'ers ACTUAL experiences, and not just a Google search. I find that the wealth of knowledge here on this site on just about ANYTHING is worth more than any article/mag review/etc.

And it's funny how the 'do a search' guys generally have nothing to offer to the discussion, making you wonder why they bother to post in your thread in the first place. I guess I'll see you at my upcoming "has anyone heard of Sadowsky?", "Who's this Jaco Guy?" threads.
