Hi,

I have a PC and I need a way to put a DVD onto my computer, break it into tracks, and create video video files. I need to upload them onto Youtube. Can anyone recomend software that I can download for free to do this?

Assuming what you're doing is legal...
You could use DVD Decrypter to rip the video files, and then use an .avi or .mpeg converter to reduce the size and cut it into parts.

DVD Shrink is the best DVD ripper in my experience.

I'm having a hard time finding a viable editing software. I downloaded a (legal) trial of Blaze Media Pro, but it keeps crashing when I try to crop the video (I'm cutting it down into various songs).

Can any suggest something easy to download that will work well?

However, I was able to rip the DVD onto my hard drive using DVD Decryptor and it seems to work fine.

I don't know of any good programs to cut it up, most of them get the audio out of sync with the video and turn the video into crap.

Once you have the DVD on your PC, use Handbrake (check free utilities thread here in OT) and convert the DVD format to AVI. Then use VirtualDUB to edit down the video. This is not a 10 minute process. These tools are free and linked in the Utilities thread here at TB.
