East Coast Heat Wave!!

Sign in to disble this ad
107 degrees here in my part of MD. I'm about to do my hour+ commute home... with no AC.

It's been a CRAZY heat wave for the past few weeks with MOST of the past 3 weeks seeing days in the upper 90s.

What's everyone doing to beat the heat?

Man, in Toronto it's 107F with the humidity (46%). This is the one thing I hate about Southern Ontario, frigid winters and brutal summers

Hah... yeah, I know... I had a conversation about how hot it was here with a bud in LA, and he basically pooped his pants in wonder at the prospect of how hot it gets here... gotta love it.

Not gonna love this heat though... Jaysus...

If you guys are experiencing anything like Chicago did in July of 95 (or was it 96), I feel your pain. I was there, and it was brutal. Running a little window A/C running in my apartment full blast day and night and only got it down to 85 indoors.

I can deal with heat until I have to sleep. Trying to sleep in this kind of weather is misery with a side of I hate my life.

Yeah, but you're in the desert. 115-degrees of dry heat equals 85-degrees with humidity!

no, that would mean purposely settling where scorching heat is a given.

I'll keep my 4 seasons... this is just too much heat a few weeks earlier than it should be. My town hit 102 with 50% humidity. Average temp for today is 83

102 that we know of around here. And I had the Harley today since my car is a bit unsafe at the moment. Highway riding wasn't unbearable, but the back roads between the highway and house were torture.

It hit 107 down where I am. I was walking around Philly all day. I've gotta say, I don't really mind the heat. It could swing from 107 to 25 and I'd be fine, just don't let it get humid !

100+ even here at 'the shore' as we call it. Work at a motel - outside balconies we run the maid's carts on. And you feel it worse when you're constantly going into ac rooms and then back outside all day. 120 or so in the laundry - even with three fans going, it's like a sweatbox. No ac at home, just a lot of fans, which are better than nothing, but...meh. Gotta admit it's the humidity that really gets you; we had similar temperature ranges back in Rapid City SD and Cheyenne WY but didn't feel it as much as I do here in southern Jersey. Also drink lots of ice water, iced tea, and iced coffee!
