Easy program to make .gif's?

you are genius!

now as for a different question...i made a gif..but when i converted all the files to gif, they lost their quality...check the grainyness out...

Gifs only support 256 colors so they need to be dithered to show any other colors (shadows, gradations etc.) hence the graininess. Looks like yours is set for pattern dither. Try diffusion, it's a softer look.

GIFs are only capable of displaying 256 colors, rather than millions, like JPEGs. You might be seeing the artificial dithering the GIF has to do in order to make it look like it has more color depth than it actually has. Just a guess.

You can try different palette definition modes, the adaptive is sometimes a step-up from the default one.

Hi, I use irfan view, a free downloadable prog, for resizing and converting, its simple to use, just google it.

of all these, the one amy linked me to was free and easiest to use. Now i ask, my problem mainly is changing pictures from jpeg to gif. when i do that is when they become dumpy looking. I am using MS Paint to change them currently...anything better?
