I have an item on eBay and a nice man in Germany wants to know if he can pay with a wire transfer. I have done this before through the classifieds here on TB and know the ropes.
I rooted around on eBay in the fine print and they say they 'do not allow' wire transfers except in certain categories. These all were big ticket things like cars and machinery and such.
My question is: what is the worst that can happen if I go this route? I know the wire transfer can be fraudulent and it will take some time to clear but that does not bother me. What does is Big Brother eBay. Why do they care? They would still get their fees paid. What can they do to poor ol' me? How do they know what method I received payment? I'm not trying a scam or anything.
Anyone have input?
