Eggnog

So I have heard of eggnog but never tried it, as it's more of an American thing really.

However, I just looked up the recipe as I was tempted to make some. Low and behold I realise it's basically a Custard Tart without the pastry (and a bit more milky boozy). Wow, my favourite tart in liquid form...I must try it!

Drink it warm, and add some whisky if the recipe doesn't already call for any sort of alcohol (and if you are legal age ). You'll be glad you did.

I like it. I make it myself. One glass of whole milk, drop in a whole egg, two spoons of sugar, a spoon of vanilla, and mix well. Don't get it frothy, but enough to mix the egg in well.

It happens to be the same recipe I use for making french toast, but I add cinnamon.

I figure, why drink eggnog straight up when you could drink eggnog with whiskey?

I don't care how it's made. But what I buy at the store is always missing one ingredient, Wild Turkey! So, I add that myself.

Southern Comfort is a common ingredient.

And the more the merrier.

Because Bob the Ulcer gets upset with straight hard booze.

I am fond of adding nutmeg and cinnamon to mine.

My Dad Makes Killer Nog!
In fact, I just remembered that I haven't had any today so I bopped over to my folks house and stole a cup!

I wish it wasnt seasonal, I cant get enough of it. That being said, a tall glass of eggnog would not be my first choice on a hot July afternoon.

Let John Legend educate you about the importance of adding nutmeg to your egg nog:
