I don't see this happening in our lifetimes or in that of our great grandchildren.

Another warning sign that people are stressed the *** out. People have always been crazy. But I think the mass murders are a sign that our society as a whole is in need of some TLC.

The population of the US is around 310 million. Unfortunately the odds are there are a few extreme wackjobs running around loose at any given time.

you don't have to be a whack job, you can be raised by whack jobs or have them as friends and their behaviour will rub off on you. i can't believe that 2 car loads of people were all actually unhinged, but i can believe they learned it. in texas i've known racists, but nothing of this magnitude.

Frank Zappa said it best: people are "dumb all over"

Is it just me or does it seem like Ohio has more shooting crimes than other states?

barring an organic brain problem or some sort of mental disorder, I think people who do this have abandoned all hope.

We live in very uncertain times and many of the rocks on which our notions of success and happiness are based have been dashed as we pitch, reel, and blunder our way into the 21st century. Some people are better equipped to handle these changes than others, and some simply are unable to cope.

Those who recognize we are at the beginning of a new era rather than the end of an old one are doing fine rolling with the changes, others are disgruntled and snarky, swearing our great nation is on it's last legs because all they can see is the end of tradition, and others don't think at all any more.

The non thinkers are too caught up in the fact that their life savings was scammed by some slick banker, or they are pushing 50 and their sole earning skill was just made obsolete, and they lack the imagination and/or desire to see anything but doom and gloom.

It's not helping that folks with political aspirations and the so called pundits who support them, along with the news entertainment industry, are encouraging all the highly negative doomspeak.
